MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Parks & Recreation Department is offering the following programs for the winter months:
Little Tyke Soccer
For youth, ages 3-5. Classes will be held Mondays, Jan. 8-22 in the Junior Fair Expo Building at Marshfield Fairgrounds Park. Little Strikers (3-year-olds) will run 6- 6:30 pm.; Midfield Mayhem (4 to 5-year-olds) will run 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. The cost is $25 for city residents and $37.50 for non-residents.
Youth tennis lessons
Classes will begin the week of Jan. 8 for Monday classes and Jan. 11 for Thursday classes. Each session is held for six weeks at the indoor tennis court in City Hall Plaza. The cost is $29 for city residents and $43.50 for non-residents.
Youth volleyball clinic
This clinic is for boys and girls in 5th and 6th grade. The clinic will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 23 to Feb. 13 from 4-5:30 p.m. at the Oak Avenue Community Center. The cost is $25 for city residents and $37.50 for non-residents.
These classes will be held Mondays, Jan. 22 and Feb. 12 for the winter session, with only two lesson dates. Classes will be held in the Marshfield Senior High fieldhouse gymnastics area. The cost is $10 for city residents, $15 for non-residents.
Open Gym & Swim
Hosted at the Marshfield High School pool and fieldhouse, this will begin on Jan. 8 on Monday and Wednesday evenings (excluding Jan. 22 and Feb. 12.) The pool is open from 5:45 – 8 p.m. and the fieldhouse from 7:15 – 9 p.m. Open gym will end on Feb. 28 and open swim will end on March 21. Youth under the age of 18 are free and adults are $2.50 for city residents and $3.75 for non-residents.
Pickleball is held on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 1-3 p.m. at the Oak Ave. Community Center, 201 S. Oak Ave. Advanced tickets at a discounted rate can be purchased in the Parks & Recreation office at $22 for 10 tickets. The drop-in rate is $2.50.
Tai Chi and arthritis exercise
Classes are held at the 2nd Street Community Center on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9-10 a.m. The fee is $3 per class, or a flex card can be purchased for $42 for 16 classes or $24 for eight classes. These classes will focus on improving joint mobility, muscle strength, and endurance.
Aquacise will be held at the Marshfield Senior High pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30–7:30 a.m.
Classes will be held at the Marshfield Senior High pool on Wednesdays, Jan. 31 to March 21 from 5:45–6:30 p.m. The fee is $36 for the classes.
This is a Zumba workout with Latin music and original moves at a lower intensity and impact. The class design will focus on balance, range of motion, and coordination. Classes meet Wednesdays, Jan. 31 to Feb. 28, from 1-1:50 p.m. at the 2nd Street Community Center. The cost of the class is $30.
