Marshfield man to stand trial for child sex crimes

MARSHFIELD – A judge has ordered a Marshfield man to stand trial on child prostitution and child pornography charges.
Jared Teche, 42, responded to a Craigslist ad posted by an undercover officer. The fake ad offered two girls, ages 8 and 11, for sexual favors. After an exchange of emails, Teche allegedly offered to pay $400 to meet the younger girl. He also sent a nude photo of himself.
Court records say Teche became suspicious and backed out of the meeting, but police were able to trace his computer address. A search of his home last December turned up multiple images of child pornography.
He is charged with one count of conspiracy to solicit a child for prostitution and 10 counts of possession of child pornography.
Teche told investigators he answered the Craigslist ad to protect children from sex trafficking.
His next court appearance is scheduled for March 5.
