Josephine A. “Jo” Dunow Meixner Robida, 86, Stratford, died on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Stoney River Assisted Living, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford, with Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Town of Eau Pleine and serving as pallbearers will be Tracy and Steve LaPointe, Lisa and Jason Schilling, and Jennifer and John Yetter. The visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday at Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford, and from 9:00 am until service time on Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. A Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service will be held at 7:30 pm on Monday at the funeral home.

Josephine was born on July 12, 1931 in Phelps, the daughter of Charles and Theresa (Doege) Dunow and was a graduate of Stratford High School. She was united in marriage to Fredrick Meixner on July 23, 1949. He died on January 14, 1983. She later married Donovan G. Robida on May 28, 1988 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby. He died on November 2, 2016.

Jo had been employed at Weyerhauser Company in Marshfield until her retirement in 1993. She and her husband Don operated the Time Out Bar in Stratford. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the Parish Council of Catholic Women and the VFW Auxiliary.

Jo is survived by her children, Bill (special friend, Jan) Meixner and Rosalie (Don) Simonton and stepchildren, Cindy (Todd) Bennett, Lori (Tom) Smith, Mary (special friend, Dennis) Baker, Brian Robida, Kurt (Kim) Robida, Kristin (special friend, Brent) Robida and Steven Robida. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister, Bernice Hoff, brother-in-law, Ralph Arlette, sister-in-law, Fumie Dunow and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husbands, 4 sisters, 4 brothers and a daughter-in-law, Jeanie Meixner.

In lieu of flowers the family will designate a memorial at a later date.
