July 1
Thief strikes while man sleeps
At 7:21 a.m., a 21-year-old Marshfield man reported that while he was asleep on a bench at a Laundromat, someone had stolen his backpack. Several items were in the backpack that was taken, including: cell phones, a hat, and a diamond ring.
No cat left behind
At 10:12 a.m., a Marshfield woman reported that when she checked on one of her rental units that a 20-year-old woman had just vacated, she found the tenant had left a cat behind. There was no food or water left for the cat. Police and the landlord were unable to locate the ex-tenant and the cat was taken to MAPS.
Gun safety reminder
At 4:54 p.m., a 21-year old Marshfield man reported that he found a hole in the wall seemingly from a bullet. He said it must have happened sometime in the prior day or two. After an investigation the man’s 31-year-old neighbor admitted that the gun had accidentally discharged while he was cleaning it. The gun was taken for safe keeping. No one was injured as there was no one in the apartment when this occurred.
July 2
Maybe it was the weather?
At 9:28 a.m., multiple witnesses reported a 21-year-old Marshfield man was yelling at several people out on a front lawn. Later in the evening this same man sent threatening messages to his girlfriend. He was cited for disorderly conduct for his behavior.
July 4
Minor arrested for possession
At 2:33 a.m., a driver was stopped by a police officer on the 300 block of North Central Avenue. The driver was arrested for OWI — first offense and a minor child in the vehicle was also arrested for possession of marijuana and then released to a parent.
July 6
Feuding brothers leads to arrest
At 1:45 a.m., a 42-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody for a probation violation, after getting into a verbal and then physical altercations with his 45-year-old brother.
Woman arrested after reporting car break in
At 7:55 p.m., an employee at a fast food restaurant called for a customer who stated her vehicle was being broken into. The 25-year-old woman claimed that two men broke into her car and were sitting inside. When officers checked her vehicle they found a dog and later located illegal drugs. The woman was arrested and is being charged for multiple infractions.
July 7
A five-person break-in
At 2:05 p.m., a 44-year-old Marshfield woman called police to report that five people had entered her home without permission and were attempting to confront a 21-year-old man that was in the home at that time. Two individuals were taken into custody for disorderly conduct, and two more were cited for disorderly conduct.
