Julie M. Schindhelm
Julie M. Schindhelm, 66, Marshfield, passed away peacefully with family at her side, on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at her home.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm, with a Memorial at 1:30 pm on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Marshfield Eagles Club. Private burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield, at a later date. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Julie was born on January 3, 1952 in Marshfield, the daughter of Mathias and Dorothy (Glenn) Poehnelt and was a 1970 graduate of Colby High School. She was united in marriage to David B. Schindhelm on August 25, 1977 in Fort Collins, CO. He died on December 30, 1995.
Julie had been employed as store manager at Figi’s Outlet in Marshfield for 28 years until her retirement. She was an avid traveler, enjoying her RV trips and driving her Mustang. She also enjoyed fishing, golfing, birds and gardening, spending time with family and friends and especially her grandchildren, Paige and Jack.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Shannon (Russ) Lobner, of Plover and Tracie (Matthew) Augustine of Sun Prairie and 2 grandchildren, Paige and Jack Augustine. She is also survived by her father Matt Poehnelt of Colby and 7 brothers, Tom (Diane) Poehnelt of Eagle, Richard Poehnelt of Athens, Dave (Carol) Poehnelt of Marshfield, Don (Jackie) Poehnelt of Loyal, Mike Poehnelt, Mark Poehnelt, both of Colby and James Poehnelt of Abbotsford, and 5 sisters, Karen (Lanny) Ludwig, Sharon (Henry) Blume, Linda (Steven) Bach, all of Dorchester, and Donna (Kevin) Kalepp of Westboro. She is further survived by her significant other and travel companion, Brad Shrake and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David, her mother, Dorothy, and a brother Ronald.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Mercier, Julie Boehm and all the oncology nurses for their care and love over the years and a special thanks to Kelly and Ministry Home Hospice.
Memorials may be designated in Julie’s name to Hope Lodge or Ministry Home Hospice.
