Monte was born on January 24, 1942 in Taylor County, to Henry and Rachel (Niemuth) Weiler. He grew up on a farm north of Hewitt and attended schools in Hewitt and Marshfield. He joined the National Guard at age 17 and was a member of the 32nd Infantry Division. He married Joyce A. Boehning on September 16, 1961 in Hewitt. Shortly after their marriage he was called into duty during the Berlin Crisis and served his country at Fort Lewis, Washington in 1961 and 1962. Following his return home, Monte and his wife moved to Auburndale and he worked for several construction companies, including Don Nikolai Construction before starting his own concrete construction business, Weiler Concrete and Supply, Inc. which he owned and operated for 30 plus years with his wife and sons. Hundreds of basements, driveways, etc. are the result of the work of Monte and his crews. He loved what he did and always tried to please his customers until a decline in his health forced him to retire. When not hard at work, in his early years he was a member of Gust Gym and boxed through the Golden Gloves organization. He also enjoyed playing softball, spending time in the woods, deer hunting and going for a ride to one of the nearby casinos with his wife. In 2014, he and his wife moved to Marshfield, but due to poor health he had resided at Stoney River Memory Care since 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce and their children, Michelle Sweet of Appleton, Scott (Jeanette) Weiler of Auburndale, Rick Weiler of Marshfield, Pamela (Kevin) Schilder of Monticello and Trent Weiler of Marshfield. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is further survived by his brothers and sister, Delbert, Gary (Janet), Keith (Sandy), Barry (Myra), Russ (Denise), all of Marshfield, Todd (Joan) of Green Bay and Melody (Neal) West of Conover, a sister-in-law, Marilyn Weiler and a brother-in-law, Wayne Semandel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Randy Weiler, and a sister Bonnie Semandel.
