Parks & Recreation offers fall sports programs

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Parks & Recreation Department will offer several fall sports programs.
Youth tennis lessons for ages 4 to 12 begin the week of Sept. 18. The classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, for six weeks, at the indoor tennis court in the former City Hall Plaza.
Youth gymnastics classes will begin Nov. 5 for ages 3 and a half and up. Classes will be held for five weeks at the Marshfield Senior High Fieldhouse gymnastics area.
Boys and girls basketball for fourth through sixth grade begins Oct. 13, from 8:30- 9:45 a.m. at the Lincoln School gym and Oct. 20-Nov. 10 at the Marshfield Middle School. Students will participate in skills and drills, placing emphasis on dribbling, passing, defense, and shooting, along with basketball games to put the skills together.
The Kiwanis Basketball League is bringing back its Youth Basketball Program. Teams will range from 8-12 players, both boys and girls leagues. The program will be held on Saturdays, December 1, 8, 15, and January 5, 12, & 19 at the Marshfield Middle School gyms. Game times will be 8, 9, 10, or 11 a.m. If you are interested in coaching, please contact Lori Bents at 715-387-2990.
Open Gym & Swim at Marshfield High School will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning Oct. 1. The pool will be open from 5:45-8 p.m. and the gym from 6:30-8 p.m.
Early Bird Lap Swim is currently being held at the Marshfield High School pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7:30 a.m. through Dec. 13. Lap swim will not be held on Nov. 23.
