Tami Sue Robus, 59 (or 39.95 like she would always say), of Marshfield, passed away on September 26, 2018, after a courageous battle with stomach cancer. Funeral services will be held at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 8026 Church Road, Arpin on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Olaf Andersen officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Arpin Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 East Veterans Parkway, Marshfield, on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and also one hour before the time of service at the church on Monday.
Tami was born on June 21, 1959. She graduated from Pittsville High School in 1977. She was married in 1979. In 1987 she had a son, Zachary. Tami’s contagious smile would shine like a ray of sunshine through a cloud on a rainy day. She had a sharp-witted sense of humor that would make you laugh on your very worst day. She was an inspiration to everyone she met. Her philosophy in life was “if you see your glass is half empty… pour it in a smaller glass and just suck it up buttercup!” Her many witty sayings would made us laugh, teach us to fight harder… or just give us some tough love. Whenever we see a strong cup of coffee, frog figurines, Coca-Cola collectibles, memorabilia of Ray Nitschke, baby blue Pontiac Firebirds, bags of yarn with knitting needles and the many handmade items she has given all of us over the years, we will always remember her. Most of her life she lived with kidney disease; she has one cadaver kidney transplant that ended in rejection. In 1983, she received a successful kidney transplant from her sister Deann; October 26 of this year, they would have been celebrating their 35th year kidney anniversary. Tami struggled with health much of her life, had many surgeries, but has always fought her way through the worst of times. Any challenge that came Tami’s way, she overcame it. She however was succumbed to the effects of this dreaded cancer. Tami was the office manager for School House Press (Pittsville, WI) for 17 years. She loved to cook, enjoyed knitting, crafting and sewing, but her real joy in life was spending time with her family; especially her son, nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law Zachary & Breanna Schiferl, her mother Dolores, her brothers Rob Robus (Mary), Guy Robus (Sandy), Steve Schiferl (Mary), Albert Schiferl (Jane) David Schiferl (Abby) Mike Schiferl (Tammi) and Rob Schiferl (Jess). Her sisters Deann Melvin (Mike) and Melissa Pittsley (Kevin). Her mother-in-law, Anita Schiferl, her nieces Brittnee Stone (Nik), Tiffney, Corttnee & Emma Robus, Kayla Jensen(Andy), Jena Scheider (Jordan), Rose, Greta, Eva and Charlotte Schiferl. Her nephews, Cole Robus, Marcus Schiferl (Katelyn), Malcom, Leo Pittsley, Brandon Schiferl, Alex, Ted and Gregg Schiferl. Her great nephews, Abraham and Oliver Stone, Abraham Jensen, Louis Scheider and a great niece Kendall Scheider. Tami is preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald and Lillian Fox, her father-in-law Robert Schiferl, her aunts, Judy Fox and Beverly Wingert and uncles, Donald Engelbright, Fabian and Conrad (Mike) Wingert.
