GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN – Festival Foods is partnering with the Salvation Army this holiday season to host the Red Kettle Campaign at its 32 stores across the state. In 2017, Festival Foods Red Kettles brought in $453,000 in donations, while Festival Foods shoppers added an additional $63,000 to their grocery totals at the checkouts for a total of $516,000, an increase of more than $37,000 from 2016.
Festival Foods President and CEO Mark Skogen said the option of adding a $1 or $5 Red Kettle donation to grocery totals during checkout is gaining popularity among shoppers.
“We know that many of our guests want to support the effort but don’t always have cash on them,” Skogen said. “We are hearing some really positive feedback about the option of adding a donation at the checkout, and best of all, the added convenience is helping the Salvation Army serve more people in our communities.”
