MARSHFIELD – A Whitehall woman is facing obstruction charges in Wood County after telling Marshfield police that a Spencer man was going to shoot her in the face.
The woman called 911 from a room at the Woodfield Inn & Suites at 1651 N. Central Ave., Marshfield, just after 7 p.m. on Nov. 16. Officers responded and found the room empty, but in disarray. The woman then called 911 from Marathon County to say that she was okay.
The woman was instructed to return to the scene of the first call in Marshfield. She was arrested for providing officers with false information. Charges of obstructing an officer and two counts of bail jumping are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s office. The 27-year-old woman remains in the Wood County Jail unable to post bond.
