Marshfield Parks & Recreation to host meeting on Braem Park planning
For the Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Parks & Recreation Department will hold a public informational meeting on the Braem Park Master Plan Dec. 13, 4-6 p.m., at the 2nd Street Community Center, 211 E. Second St., Marshfield.
The meeting will be conducted in an open house format with the public welcome at any time. Design ideas will be on display and committee representatives will be on-hand to listen to feedback.
The majority of Braem Park was constructed in the late 1970s. Since then, many of its amenities were added when the neighborhood was developed. It is a popular park and one of only two parks on the city’s northeast side. Currently, the parking lot, tennis courts, and softball field are in need of repairs.
The Parks, Recreation and Forestry Committee is working with CBS2, an engineering/architecture firm, on a comprehensive master plan that will include a strong vision for the park in context with its location, amenities, natural resources, and current and future uses. The plan will evaluate current conditions, facilities, programs, woods, and open space. It will also propose future programming and systematic facility improvements and additions.
