Hearing loop installed at Tack Center
For the Hub City Times
SPENCER – The Spencer School District has installed a hearing loop at the LuCille Tack Center for the Arts, Spencer.
The facility’s center section now offers attendees with hearing loss an opportunity to hear amplified programs without the typical background noise.
An audio frequency induction loop, also known as a “hearing loop,” wirelessly transmits sound directly to an individual’s hearing aid or cochlear implant without the need for additional equipment or neck loops. With the flip of a t-coil switch, a component found in most hearing aids, an electromagnetic signal is sent from the Tack’s sound system directly to a hearing aid, resulting in an enhanced and more natural sound quality. For folks without personal hearing devices, there are a limited number of portable receivers and headphones available.
