Tiger gymnasts claim invite title on record-setting day
Holland claims first place in every event

RHINELANDER – The Marshfield Tiger gymnastic team broke a school record, while claiming first place in the Rhinelander Snowflake Invitational on Dec. 8.
Tiger junior Grace Holland also secured first place in every event of the meet, scoring 8.775 on the balance beam, 9.200 in floor exercise, 9.100 on the uneven bars, and 9.425 in vaulting, to claim all around with a 36.500.
Earning top 10 finishes in the balance beam were: sixth place – Hanna Merkel with 8.250, seventh place – Shantel Nienast with 8.125, and tying for eighth was Emma Haugen, 8.100.
In the floor exercise, Haugen finished second with 9.000, while Brooke McGrath took fifth with 8.525 and Ally Bakke tied for seventh with 8.400.
In vaulting, Haugen secured third with 8.700, McGrath and Kimberly Backaus tied for sixth with 8.400, and Sophie Nikolay took ninth with 8.350.
Haugen joined Holland in the top 10 all around, earning the ninth place spot with 31.850.
Marshfield received scores of 35.125 in floor exercise, 33.250 in balance beam, 34.925 in vaulting, and 31.000 in uneven bars to lock up first place with 134.3000. Ashland took second with 129.4000.
