Chestnut Center to feature local painter
For the Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD – The Chestnut Center for the Arts will feature the works of local artist, Dana M. Johnson, through January.
All of Johnson’s oil paintings were created on location near Marshfield. She said that she “loves to be immersed in the outdoors, even with the often unpredictable elements of sudden weather change or bugs” and that “every painting has a story to go with it.”
Dana has a BFA in illustration from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and studied plein air oil painting at the studio of Joe Paquet in St. Paul and at the Madeline Island School of the Arts. She is also a member of the Friends of the Mead/McMillan Wildlife Area
The exhibition will be up Jan.3-31 at the Chestnut Center, 208 S. Chestnut Ave., Marshfield. An opening reception will be held Jan. 18, from 6:30-8 p.m.
