Marshfield gymnastics remains undefeated

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield gymnastics team remains undefeated following a seven-team invite in Wisconsin Rapids on Jan. 5.
The Tigers took first place with a team score of 133.0250, edging out Ashland with 130.5750.
Marshfield’s Gracie Holland took first in all-around competition with a 37. 225, while taking first in vaulting, uneven bars, and balance beam, and second in floor exercise. Emma Haugen secured the third spot in all around, with a third in vaulting, uneven bars, and floor exercise, and a tenth in balance beam.
In vaulting competition, Marshfield’s Brooke McGrath placed sixth, while Sophie Nikolay took eighth and Vivian Nikolai grabbed ninth.
Shantel Nienast tied for the eighth spot on the uneven bars, as Vivian Nikolai took tenth and Alexis Mushel tied for eleventh.
In floor exercise, McGrath placed fifth, while Ally Bakke earned the tenth spot and Kim Backhaus placed 24th.
Vivian Nikolai also shared the 13th spot on the balance beam, as Backhaus took 15th and Nienast placed 24th.
