Four arrested after traffic stop
On Jan. 15 at 4:19 p.m. an anonymous caller reported that an Appleton man with an active Winnebago County warrant was heading toward Marshfield. The man was found and a total of four individuals were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia as a result of a traffic stop. All of the individuals were booked at the Marshfield Police Department, but the two men were transported to the Wood County Jail while the two women were released after being booked.
Traffic stop leads to short chase
On Jan. 15 at 9:20 p.m., an officer attempted to stop a red GMC for a traffic stop using his lights and siren, but the car refused to pull over. The vehicle fled, and the officer engaged in a short pursuit, but road conditions prevented him from continuing the chase. The charges of fleeing from a traffic stop, obstructing an officer, and bail jumping will be requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office for a Marshfield man and woman.

Car Problems
On Jan. 16 at 10 p.m., a 63-year-old man entered a store and began talking about how his car was having problems while taking packs of cigarettes. When police arrived, it was discovered that the vehicle the man was driving had been reported as stolen. The man was taken into custody, where he admitted that he had stolen the car He was taken to Marathon County for pending charges. The vehicle was left secured as per the wishes of the owner.

Traffic stop yields drug crop
On Jan. 17 at 8:43 p.m., during a traffic stop, the K-9 Steffi detected the odor of a controlled substance within the vehicle. Marijuana was discovered in the car. As a result, a 23-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man, both from Marshfield, were arrested and charged with possession of THC as well as intent to deliver.

Smashed man smashes mailbox
On Jan. 19 at 1:36 a.m., a Marshfield woman reported that her mailbox had been smashed and that footprints surrounding the mailbox were present. Officers discovered that the footprints began at a Marshfield gas station and led to two other Marshfield residences. At the first residence, it appeared that the person had unsuccessfully attempted to bust in to their own home by breaking the glass on the back door. At the second residence, which was in a neighborhood near to where the mailbox had been smashed, contact was made with an intoxicated 38-year-old Marshfield male who refused to speak with officers.

Credit cards stolen and meth found
On Jan. 20 at 3:39 p.m., a Marshfield woman reported that credit cards had been stolen out of her vehicle. The ensuing investigation resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine in the possession of a 28-year-old Marshfield man. During the process, a 31-year-old Marshfield woman provided misleading information and was cited for obstruction of justice.
