Retail theft
On Feb. 28 at 9:06 a.m., a Marshfield department store loss prevention department called to report that a female suspect had stolen some items. The report stated that when stopped by loss prevention, the woman emptied her purse of some of the stolen items before fleeing the scene. The woman was identified and charges are being requested.
March 4, 2019
Counterfeit bill
On March 4 at 5:15 p.m., a Marshfield restaurant employee stated that a male had attempted to pay for a purchase at the fast food franchise using a counterfeit hundred dollar bill. When alerted that the bill was fake, the man took it back and paid with a different, authentic hundred dollar bill before leaving the restaurant.

Car prowler
On March 5 at 12:20 p.m., a Marshfield woman reported that a male individual was in the parking lot for employees behind her workplace peeping in car windows and trying door handles. When questioned by police, the man stated that he was merely interested in specific types of vehicles and was not trying to enter them. The vehicles were checked and nothing was found to be missing, but the male was given a verbal warning.
March 8, 2019
Gun scare
On March 8 at 11:10 a.m., it was reported that a male wearing a red sweatshirt had walked into the Marshfield Medical Center armed with a firearm. Officers were called to the scene and both the man and his vehicle were located and searched. An airsoft type pistol was found in the glove box and the man was found to be of no immediate threat.
Broken window
On March 8 at 1:17 p.m., an employee of a Marshfield grocery store reported that the back window of her vehicle had been broken while she was working. The woman stated that the incident would have happened sometime between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. that day, and management stated that they would locate video footage of the incident.
