Letter to the Editor: Community garden beds available
Dear editor,
Marshfield area gardeners looking forward to growing their own organic produce may now sign up for one or more of the 80 community garden beds available for our 11th growing season at our three sites: First Presbyterian Church, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and Church of Christ (formerly St. Alban’s).
Registration forms may be picked up at the Roehl Library lobby display, the Center for Community Health office 1702 N. Fig Ave., Marshfield, or at the Marshfield Community Foundation office 211 E. Second St., Suite #2, Marshfield. Gardeners will be offered instruction in square foot gardening techniques and will be assigned a raised bed, filled with fresh compost. Water is also provided.
A minimal fee is charged and gardeners are asked to keep their beds and bed perimeters weeded until they have harvested their fresh vegetables. Three hours of volunteer time are also requested over the growing season.
Questions? Contact: [email protected] or call 715-221-9608. We look forward to another amazing season growing together with you.
