Heeg Brothers Dairy hosts Colby FFA breakfast
By Hub City Times staff
COLBY – The Colby FFA Alumni held their 38th annual Dairy Breakfast at Heeg Brothers Dairy on June 23.
This was the first time that the dairy business has hosted the Colby breakfast, in association with the Colby FFA Alumni and Abby/Colby Crossings Chamber of Commerce.
The farm found its origin in 1970, when August Heeg, Jr., and his wife, Joanne, moved to the area.
The Heeg Brothers company was formed in 1999, when Heeg sons – Gary, Jay, and Mark – formed a partnership. Today, the three brothers, along with nephews, Cory and Nathan operate the dairy.
In addition to breakfast, the event offered farm tours, a petting zoo, and other children’s activities.
The Maplewood Badgers and Cherokee Chums 4-H clubs also assisted with the event.
