Ron Manthe passed away at the age of 74, on Monday, July 8, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Hospital with the love of his life for the past 53 years, Lorea, at his side as well as their children. He will be pain free now, no more suffering, fly high.
Ron was born July 21, 1944 to Valerious and Hazel (Vanderhoof) Manthe of Spencer. He attended Spencer schools. He worked at a cheese factory, farmed for a few years, and worked for Northside Elevator of Loyal for 30+ years. Ron and Lorea opened a restaurant in Marshfield for a short time.
Ron married Lorea Rueden on Nov. 20, 1965. They had 5 children, He lived the majority of his life in the Spencer and Loyal areas.
Ron was known by his hunting buddies and friends as “Big M”. He loved to hunt, run dogs, and go fishing. He really just liked going up north to the land to enjoy the piece and quiet. He loved to have a garden and also enjoyed playing Bingo.
He will be dearly missed by his soulmate Lorea, sons: Ron Jr., Robert, both of Spencer. Norbert, of Eau Claire, daughter Lisa of Spencer, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is further survived by brothers, Jerry and Charles (Terri) Manthe, a sister Judy Wagner (Charles Widmann) all of Spencer. Also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Linda, daughter-in-law, Jill Manthe, granddaughter Kaitlyn Manthe and a sister Cecelia Manthe.
On Sunday, July 28, from 10am-4pm, there will be a Celebration of Life for Ron at the Wildwood Park shelter #2. Family and friends are all welcome.
