Former governor to give Alzheimer’s talk in Wisconsin Rapids

Posted

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Former Wisconsin Gov. Marty Schreiber will speak about his book, “My Two Elaines: Learning, Coping and Surviving as an Alzheimer’s Caregiver,” during an event at Renaissance by Rennes-Wisconsin Rapids on June 16.

In “My Two Elaines,” Schreiber shares his story of love, life, learning and caregiving for someone who has Alzheimer’s. As two-thirds of those with Alzheimer’s are women, Schreiber offers special guidance for anyone thrust into this unexpected job. This presentation is ideal for caregivers, family members and loved ones who want a greater understanding of caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s.

With patience, adaptability and even a sense of humor, Schreiber shows how love continues for his “Second Elaine.” Following the presentation, Schreiber will stay for a question-and-answer period with the audience.

Light refreshments and books will be available. Admission is free to the public.

The talk will be from 6 to 7 p.m. June 16. Register in advance at: www.rennesgroup.com/events
