Letter to the editor: Reader urgers re-election of Feirer to county board
Dear editor,
The spring election in Wisconsin this year promises to be intriguing and consequential in nature. From the presidential preference primary to the state Supreme Court race, the results of this election will have far-reaching consequences. While this holds true in the national and state races, it also holds true in the local races on the ballot.
It is for this reason I encourage the residents of district 3 in Wood County to re-elect Mike Feirer to the Wood County Board of Supervisors. I have had the privilege of serving with Mike for many years on the board and have come to rely on his knowledge and forethought on the vast subjects that come before the board.
His life experiences have served his community and Wood County well. There is no better champion for veterans’ issues than Mike, and while he and I do not always agree on every matter, he is never disagreeable in his disagreement. He makes it a point to understand the intricacies of the issues that affect our county and is mindful that decisions we have to make, while sometimes unpopular, have long-term implications beyond the current news cycle.
He is a recognized leader on the board, serving as chair of the Public Safety Committee. When he speaks on the board floor, everyone knows he has done his homework and is knowledgeable on the subject at hand.
For these reasons, Mike has my full support in his candidacy, and I urge the residents of Wood County district 3 to re-elect Mike Feirer to the Wood County Board.
Trent Miner
Wood County Board Vice Chair
