Marshfield Junior Legion baseball opens season with twinbill split vs. Wausau
Krueger, Spaeth each have to hits for Blue Devils in Game 1 win

MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield American Junior Legion baseball team opened its 2017 campaign with a split of a doubleheader against Wausau on Tuesday at Jack Hackman Field.
The Junior Blue Devils beat Wausau 9-5 in the opener before dropping Game 2 by a score of 6-3.
Marshfield trailed 4-1 in Game 1 before exploding for a six-run fifth inning to take the lead.
Ryan Krueger had three hits and two RBIs, Tyler Spaeth also had three hits, and Mason Coffren drove in a pair of runs for Marshfield.
Marshfield will host Stevens Point for a doubleheader beginning at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Hackman Field.
The varsity game on Thursday at Stevens Point, which was to be Marshfield’s season opener, has been postponed due to the Point high school team playing in the WIAA sectionals on Tuesday. No make-up date has been announced.
