Pittsville’s Heart & Sole Road Race coming up on July 3

PITTSVILLE — The Heart & Sole Road Race serves as the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department’s major annual fundraiser with proceeds earmarked for equipment and several community projects, including two college scholarships. The Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department provides fire and emergency medical services to the city of Pittsville and a large portion of Wood County.
The 31st annual Heart & Sole Road Race will be held at Riverside Park in Pittsville on July 3. All runners and walkers are welcome. The 2-mile and 5-mile races start together at 7 p.m.
There are overall and age group awards for both distances as well as plenty of postrace refreshments and snacks. Also, a free — no registration needed — Kids Quarter Mile is held just before the main event for children age 10 and under with a prize bag at the finish for all.
Register for the Heart & Sole Road Race online at getmeregistered.com. To mail in an entry, print out the registration form at pittsvillefiredepartment.com. Paper registrations with check payment need to be received by July 1. Mail them to or drop them off at Pittsville Family Dental, 8243 Jackson St., Pittsville, WI 54466.
