Hometown: Marshfield.
High school attended: Marshfield High School.
Current program or major: Nursing.
Q: Why did you choose UW-Marshfield/Wood County?
Tiffany and Tara Guden: We both chose to attend UW-Marshfield/Wood County because it allowed us to stay at home, to save money, and to proceed with the collaborative nursing program through UW-Eau Claire.
Q: What surprised you the most about UW-Marshfield/Wood County when you arrived on campus?
TTG: We immediately felt welcomed by faculty and students when we arrived on campus. The small class sizes do not make college feel intimidating.
Q: Why did you choose your program/major?
TTG: We both decided to enter nursing careers because we have been fascinated by the medical field since we were young. We also love helping care for others.
Q: What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?
TTG: We have enjoyed learning about the small and complex functions that occur throughout the human body in our Biology 101 class.
Q: In addition to being a college student, what takes up your free time?
TTG: When we are not in class, we keep busy by volunteering for the Marshfield Medical Center, volunteering with the children at Bright Horizons Child Care Center, being student ambassadors, participating in Intervarsity on campus, and, of course, studying.
Q: Who has been your favorite professor or staff member?
TTG: Our favorite professor has been Dr. (Sandra) Neumann. She always keeps classes interesting and lively.
Q: What do you plan to do after UW-Marshfield/Wood County?
TTG: We plan on going to the UW-Eau Claire campus or continuing our education in Marshfield through the collaborative nursing program.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for incoming UW-Marshfield/Wood County students?
TTG: Get involved with different activities offered on campus. Making new friends can provide a more positive college experience.
