Local man’s legacy lives on through scholarship program

Posted

MARSHFIELD – For the family and community of Adam Steiner, the annual golf scramble held at RiverEdge Golf Course is more than just a fundraiser — it is a powerful example of community solidarity, remembrance and enduring generosity.

This event — affectionately known as the “Spam”ble” — is a nod to Adam’s nickname, Spam, and helps fund the scholarship established by his family in his honor.

“Adam was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back,” his family stated.

“His caring spirit now lives on through scholarships that help others pursue their dreams in the field he loved, a gift meaningful to the Steiner family,” a release from the Marshfield Area Community Foundation, which serves as a steward for the scholarship, stated.

“Adam’s career in agricultural technology and robotic dairy farming was matched only by his unwavering commitment to others. His intellect and kindness forged deep industry connections, friendships on the golf course, and a reputation for living with generosity and purpose. His family established the Adam D. Steiner Legacy Scholarship Fund to ensure his legacy lives on, supporting students pursuing careers in dairy science and related fields. Each year, scholarships are awarded to aspiring leaders, creating opportunities that echo Adam’s love for farming innovation and community.”

The “Spam”ble is now in its fourth year and the September 2025 event provided just under $10,000 for the scholarship fund.

“The Marshfield Area Community Foundation is proud to steward this scholarship and ensure Adam’s legacy continues to uplift others. Through every scholarship awarded, Adam’s name is carried forward, inspiring a new generation while transforming memory into opportunity,” the release added.

The scholarship portal opens Dec. 1.

Interested students can apply for the Adam D. Steiner scholarship and several others in one convenient application at marshfield.foundation/scholarships.
