Meeting tonight about potential local wind farm

Posted

MARSHFIELD – Alliant Energy is holding a meeting tonight, May 29, about a proposed wind farm that would be built just north of Marshfield.

Dubbed the Hub City Wind Farm, it’s expected to generate 100 megawatts of energy which would be enough to power about 30,000 homes each year, according to Alliant.

The meeting is expected to draw some protesters. The group Wisconsin Advocates for Responsible Energy, or WARE, is calling on its members to pick up yard signs across from the Belvedere Supper Club, where the meeting will be.

At tonight’s meeting, people will be able to meet with the project team and ask questions. If you can’t make it, you can email info@hubcitywind.com or call (715) 443-5026.

Tonight’s meeting runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at Belvedere Supper Club, 203630 State Highway 97, Marshfield.
