Stratford School District New Year Resolutions & Goals

Posted

Happy New Year! We hope that you had a wonderful holiday season! The new year tends to be a time when people reflect on the previous year and set new year’s resolutions/goals. In the Stratford School District, our staff is continuing to look at the goals we set at the beginning of the 2024-25 school year. Our staff does a wonderful job working on action steps for their student learning objectives while working on their own professional practice goals.

Our major focus in the elementary school revolves around the state’s new ACT 20 initiatives. Our elementary goal is to maximize student achievement so that our students improve on standardized tests preparing them for career and college readiness success before they graduate. Reviewing our elementary school proficiency results it’s exciting to see how we have improved from the year prior as well as being one of the highest schools in the state.
Our Middle School and High School have set goals around academic achievement and community partnerships with an emphasis on our students becoming life-career and/or college-ready by the time they graduate. Our students in the high school took a career interest survey, giving them an idea of what career they might be interested in. With these surveys, we encourage the students to take classes that revolve around their interest. In addition, we continue to look at areas we are successful in the forward and ACT tests to help our students with their college readiness.
Stratford Elementary will be hosting Child Development Days on Thursday evening, February 16 and Friday morning, February 17. All children in the Stratford School District who will turn ages 2.9 through age 4 by September 1, 2023 are encouraged to attend. Children will be screened in the areas of fine and gross motor, speech and language, cognition and social development. The screening identifies strengths and areas to work on for each child. For more information or to make an appointment please call the elementary office at 715-687-3535. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are greatly appreciated.
Stratford Elementary will also begin accepting registrations for the 2025-2026 4K program. To be eligible to attend 4K in the fall, your child must be 4 years of age on or before September 1, 2025. If you have a child eligible and have not received information please contact the elementary office.
