In a unique show of commemoration, Randall “Randy” Meyer, of Loyal, was laid to rest on March 15 by family and friends using a team of horses. Part of Meyer Farms and well-known in draft horse competition community — four-driving and 10-horse pyramid hitch — Meyer’s remains were transported to its resting place via horse and wagon by his children and grandchildren. The wagon was then followed by the “lone rider” — another of Meyer’s sons. Randy passed away on Feb. 23 at Marshfield Medical Center at the age of 72.
